Thank you to all who attended our recent Helifix wall crack stitching tutorial. We have had great feedback from the morning so we assume all who attended found the presentation informative and practical!
We thank Helifix UK General Manager John Heseltine for his presentation which provided an excellent overview of modern masonry crack stitching techniques, and the different structural applications in which they can be used. There were many queries from the floor about the use of footing stabilisation in conjunction with wall crack stitching, and knowing what historical and/or ongoing causes were attributable to building subsidence. Knowing how to acsertain the cause and choosing the correct path to remediate is crucial. The team form Mainmark (formerly Uretek) were also on hand to assist with footing stabilisation enquiries.
John is a world leading authority on structural building remediation with more than 20yrs experience in the field providing technical support to major projects all over the globe, ARS work closely with John and his team in all our remediation projects.
The surroundings were also a great hit with our venue (the Fox Classic Car Collection in Docklands) proving very popular. The Fox collection is housed in a 120yr old historic warehouse in Docklands (one of the few original buildings left), and represents what we were told is over 90 million dollars worth of Lindsay Fox’s private car collection. In addition to wondering amongst the cars a group of guests were treated to a private tour of the Fox workshop by venue director and chief restorer Brian Tanti. We wish Brian all the best with his hand built reconstruction of a classic 1960’s Bentley…!
If you couldn’t make it, we’re sorry we missed you. We look forward to seeing you at the next one! It will again be… Difficult… Dangerous… (and possibly) Dirty work, focussing on the type of ‘Special Project’ commissions Asset Rehab are reknown for.
