Brighton Primary school in Melbourne’s inner South was faced with a difficult problem. Decayed and corroding lintels and bell towers in the Heritage (130 year old +) main school building; with no spare room to move students out of the building during rehabilitation.
The Solution
A.R.S rehabilitation strategy included the lintel rehabilitation and also repairing decayed bell towers without removing them or scaffolding the entire school. In addition regrouting brick walls, rehabilitating historic roof plumbing and repairing decayed wood work was undertaken. All works performed within school grounds, in accordance with stringent OH&S.
The Result
Works were completed on budget, as quoted, within timeframe, exceeding client’s expectations. In addition to co-ordinating and managing access and security issues with School staff and students. The repairs are now compliant with current safety standards, in addition to giving the entire facade a welcome facelift.
